An Actor's Odyssey

Sebastian Belmont is an actor, writer, director, and creative producer with a practice grounded in performance, storytelling, and cultural engagement. His work spans stage, screen, writing, and project development, shaped by an early and enduring commitment to the arts.

He began acting on stage in Abu Dhabi at the age of six. Growing up across different countries due to his family’s international life gave him an early adaptability and a broad perspective on people, place, and storytelling. As he moved between communities, performance remained a constant, leading him into theatre, directing, and technical production work from a young age.

In Australia, Sebastian became involved in community theatre in Perth and volunteered with Gove Arts Theatre in Nhulunbuy, where he developed practical experience both onstage and behind the scenes, including lighting and special effects. Under the guidance of mentors such as Tilly Todhunter, he deepened his understanding of performance as both a craft and a collaborative discipline. At 17, he made his directorial debut with a production of Mother, an early indication of the wider creative leadership that would continue to shape his path.

He later trained at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), where he further developed a multidisciplinary approach to acting, writing, and directing. His creative work has included original theatre-making and performance-led storytelling, including Pocket, a project that reflected his interest in intimate, character-driven work and earned critical recognition.

Alongside his artistic practice, Sebastian is the founder of the Throughline Film Foundation, a Vancouver-based initiative being developed to create educational and culturally grounded film work. Through Throughline, he is building projects that connect narrative storytelling with literature, heritage, and public learning, with a particular interest in works that preserve and illuminate classical and culturally significant texts for contemporary audiences.

Across all of his work, Sebastian is driven by a commitment to meaningful storytelling, artistic rigor, and the belief that film and performance can serve not only as forms of expression, but as vehicles for education, cultural memory, and lasting public value.

Seb is a highly intelligent, imaginative, passionate and gifted actor and human being. I would have no hesitation in working with him again in a professional capacity and would consider him a unique asset in any cast, production, company or other industry context.
He distinguished himself at WAAPA by his exceptional level of commitment and drive as an actor, student and ensemble member, and enriched every production and class that he was involved in. He also brought a unique quality and energy to every role he played, and to every rehearsal room and classroom. At the end of his three years’ training, he lit up the stage in his Showcase scene as Cyrano and his Shakespeare monologue as Shylock with a rare mix of charisma, sly humour and technical prowess.
I can heartily recommend working with Seb and am confident that he has a great future as an actor. interacting with them, develop creative ideas our customers products valuable in the eyes of.

Sebastian has a remarkable talent for acting across all mediums and displays an original artistic style. He has an ability to totally embody any role he takes on. Sebastian always immerses himself in the world of the character and manages to deliver unique and memorable performances. As such his contribution to the success of each project is immeasurable.
I had the pleasure of teaching and directing Sebastian over the course of 3 years in my film and theatre course at the Western Australian Academy of Preforming Arts. Sebastian is a magnetic person, and he treats his craft of storytelling with utmost respect and unshakable dedication.
The first time I worked with Sebastian was on “Europe” by Michael Gow while he was still in his first year on training, he was nothing short of brilliant, making his scenes iconic for the years to come. People like Sebastian are few and far between, a true creative with an intense burning desire to tell stories and to perfect his craft.
